That is easy. It is a 2005 - 2009 interior. with custom made console.

You can do it your self by getting the interior out of a totaled 2005- 2009

Or you can have it done if you have the cash.

WOW, thats awesome!
I had that idea when I first saw the 2010, I wanted to get another '68 and do the interior swap.

Nice to see the S197 interior swap actually done in a classic

I think that the 2010 interior or newer is a bit to advanced!

Bringing this back from the dead.

As some of you may have already seen, I bought another 68' Mustang.

This weekend I bought a mint set (F+R) of 2011 Mustang GT Premium leather power seats with the center console.

The seats will be here sometmie this next week and I am going to start doing my 10+ S197 conversion.

A few others have done this like the Microsoft Mustang and a 67' that is underway and a 68' Fastback magazine build.

From what I have seen so far is that the 79-04 seats play very nicely with the stock seat tracks leaving the only work to be done drilling a couple extra holes in the stock seat track. Then they line up.

Well I know from other builds that the S197 seats fit perfectly in place of the 79-04 mounts with minor modifications needed, spacers to be exact to help raise the seat.

Knowing this, modding the classic seat tracks should be pretty straight forward to work with the S197 seats.

Once they get here and I can start working on them we will find out.

Does anyone else out there have any tips or links to builds where Classics got S197 interior?

Here is a stock photo of my seats, I will post an actual photo once they get here.

The best way to get a 2010+ interior is through a junkyard with a totaled car. Buying the parts from a dealer would be a huge mistake ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$), check on Ebay for totaled cars, I see them on there all the time.

Please keep us updated. I have thoughts of this in my 65 coupe. I have the carpet out right now and will be addressing the seats in the near future. Those are some nice seats I too hope to find a nice set with a custom council to be added between the work of art! I found a pair of 2003 on Craig's list for $150 charcoal in color and I need black. Would have to dye them is all.

Yup, I plan to do the dash too. Had the 2012 I got these seats from had the front end still I would have picked it up. I am picking the console up later today but for now these awesome seats have a temp home in my front living room.

These were purchased from LKQ for a lot less than you would think, they had them on ebay for $1400 but I went to my local LKQ.
LKQ sold them to me for $400+tx. They dont like holding onto stuff and if you have the cash they will sell ya whatever you want.

Here is the linkback to my thread.
After 6 long years I have a 68' again!

They really are a good company, a lot of parts you can find with them cheaper then they go for on the forums and ebay.

Just make friends with a sales rep at the front desk and they will take care of you each time you come in. They do make a small commission so try to stick to one person that you like or spread the love to everyone.

Oh they will even match Pick-N-Pulls prices. Example. I needed a seat belt for the Subie and PnP wanted to charge me for the belt, latch clip, retractor, extention arm and hardware. It came out to $65 dollars + 2 dollars to get in for the damn thing and pull it and this didnt include the buckle or tax.

LKQ said that was a ripoff and got me the whole thing for $30 + tax.

I use to work for PnP too about 9 years ago but I have no love for companies that overprice parts.

LKQ will also ship parts from other stores to them at no extra cost, so say you want the 5.0L and 6spd MT that came from that 2012 I got my seats from (btw, $9000 is what they said they have it listed for, 2000mi) they would ship it to your local LKQ at no extra cost.

So I like them the best right now of all the salvage yards, even over my old stomping grounds at PnP in Sacramento.

Just bought a pair of leather seats out of an "07" for the 65 coupe. $155 brought to my home. Not bad I thought. We will customize the seat pan I will have the fab shop I work at remake the seat pan to accept the electric driver seat and keep the passenger manual. LKQ was the right one for me!!

Here are my new seats! I believe I got a heck of a deal on these. No scuffs just needed a good cleaning.
