disc conversion help

First off I would like to say that I am new to the forum and I would appreciate any input I can get. Here is the situation, I have a 65 coupe that I am wanting to convert from 4 lug drum brakes to 5 lug disc brakes. In the process I would like to convert from the stock rearend to a 9 inch. So here is my question. There is a 1976 Ford Granada Ghia for sale here locally for a decent price and I was curious if everything (front and rear) would convert over Thanks in advance.

ricky,

Welcome to MM Forums Ricky...

The Granada will switch over very nicely.

The front end you will use the spindles, And you will need to buy a 1965

V8 drag link and ideler arm and pitman arm, inner tie rod ends and granada Couplers to the outter tie rod ends.

The rear will change right over.

Good Luck, We are here to help...

Thanks for the help. I'm glad I found this site. I just started my build last month and it is really hard to find good local advice. Thanks again.

What all years of Granada and or versailles will swap? I want to compare prices of junk yard parts before I go and buy this whole car. Thanks in advance.

From what we have seen, all the year of them will work the same.

A local car builder that restores alot of mustangs just told me that a 76 granada rear end is too wide for my mustang. Is there a way other than measuring each rear end to figure this out? Thanks

Ricky,
75-80 Granada/Monarch will work. The rear end is 58" wide, your 65 rear is 57.25" wide. So it is 3/4" wider or 3/8" per side. It will bolt right in.

Is the '67 mustang 9" rear end the same length as the '66 mustang 9"?

What is that measurement from (axle to axle or housing flange to housing flange)?
