302 intake manifold problem

1970 302, i put on a new intake manifold, i went from stock 2v to a ford motorsports manifold with edelbrock carb. the plenums on the manifold are high, and the distributor doesn't quite fit right, i need to know if i need a different one, and if so which one. also i heard that with the performance intake and carb, the motor may not run well since it's otherwise stock, do i need new heads, crank, or what. all input is appreciated thanks, joe

it's a manual choke, 600cfm performer series carb, but the distributor cap doesnt sit right because it hits the manifold
