Piss Off A Vette Owner-Vote for the Mach

I entered my 2003 GT Mustang in a the ClassicCar Guy Connect Virtual Car Show for Best of 2010

NASTY 03 GT - Show and Go!! Over 50 mods between performance and appearance. This car is owned by a chic!! Was told it was too masculine for a girl so the modding began. SCT Tuned, BBK LT Headers and O/R H-pipe, Accufab 70mm TB + Plenum, FRPP 3.73 ge

A guy on Facebook started ranting about how Mustangs are store bought and it kind of ticked me off. Found out he was a Vette owner

Welcome to Facebook

If you can-please take the time to vote for my car or at least this sweet 1969 Mach1 428CJ

Red 1969 Mach1 428CJ - Here is a NOS correct 1969 Mach 1 428CJ with a shaker hood. 4-spd car. It easily can go sideaways!! Thank goodness it was equipped with power brakes-this car not only shows it goes!! No trailer queen, this one is driven to show

Heck-enter your car if you want. I am not usually one to ask for votes but I just feel the need for Mustangs to win after his rants. Thanks everyone!!

November 23 at 7:03pm ˇ LikeUnlikeCar Guy the mustang is a niiiice car! But i like yours too ed!! get the votes. theyare all great cars!
November 23 at 7:07pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald Only have a small number of net friends, The rest is who ever likes the car. My vote always goes to people who build their cars. Anyone can buy one.
November 23 at 7:11pm ˇ LikeUnlikeCar Guy I agree! but it takes a lot to keep one looking so nice. Yours is great
November 23 at 7:12pm ˇ LikeUnlikeJo Dura I agree with Ed, we can't compete with a whole Mustang club. What happened to originality....
November 24 at 6:42am ˇ LikeUnlikeKaren Baum I love all cars, it is in the eye of the beholder. I may have a Mustang but I built it to be my own too. It takes work for all of us to maintain cars also so I look at the big picture. I wish everyone luck-there are some real beauties competing!!
November 24 at 9:04am ˇ LikeUnlikeJohn Botts I agree with Joe and Ed. It's much easier when you start with a new car and throw dollar$$$ at it. I prefer the challenge of restoring an old car, but everyone has their own preference. They are all nice in their own way.
November 24 at 9:10am ˇ LikeUnlikeJo Dura Its is in the eye of the beholder, we have 3 Willys that we partially restored and one Corvette that I did customize to make it different from the others out there. All the cars are awesome and maybe they should just be in seperate classes. I can never compare any of our Willys to the Corvette or a Mustang or Camaro, they are just a different bread...
November 24 at 9:46am ˇ UnlikeLike ˇ 1 person
Loading...Jo Dura breed, not bread, lol
November 24 at 10:21am ˇ LikeUnlikeJohn Botts Point taken. It's the same everywhere, the trailered cars win because they are never driven..the club members all vote on their members cars so they always win. That's just life! Never changes. That's why I only enter judged shows. Even then, there's a chance for "Home Cooking".
November 24 at 12:42pm ˇ LikeUnlike ˇ 2 people
Loading...Ed Fitzgerald This car show should have a home built section and a store bought section. Jo nailed it. You cant have a fair compitition when you have a club stacking the vote. The best almost never win. Compare that Mustang to the Willys.......Nuff said there. Around these parts they separate the apples from oranges..(No pun intended) Home built, Trailered and store bought.
November 24 at 7:11pm ˇ LikeUnlike ˇ 2 people
Loading...John Botts And the stacking continues! Ridiculous....it's not a show, it's a club meeting.
Sunday at 8:15pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald It`s definitly "In your face" By contests end there will be well over 2500 unearned votes on that store bought car. At least we know all the votes below his are honest and earned. The Willys is my pick. Mustangs are for grocery shopping...lol
Sunday at 11:46pm ˇ LikeUnlikeJo Dura Thanks Ed. I bet that Mustang can't win a PPG paint award at a Good Guys show, lol. This is just like the local shows we go to, our car won at Syracuse (7500 cars) but we can't win at a local 200 car show, because its who you know and how many people you have voting for you.
Monday at 6:46am ˇ LikeUnlikeJohn Botts I think the winner should be picked by Car Guy, that would end the biased voting. I could accept the winner by any kind of fair decision. This is one reason that I no longer belong to a car club, it's too political.
Monday at 9:13am ˇ LikeUnlikeJo Dura I so agree John, we also do not belong to any car clubs, after all these should not be popularity contests.
Monday at 9:49am ˇ LikeUnlikeCar Guy Hello all, I really appreciate the feedback from all of you about the show. As you know this is the "Best of 2010" So it is pretty much open to all entries. There are over 40 virtual shows a year on our site. Some will be much more strict a...nd include guidelines for types of entries..etc. But as for the end of the year it is pretty much a free for all. We appreciate the club votes because it helps to build a car enthusiasts community and they are a part of that. I also understand you guys are as well and will talk to the other desicion makers on the site to try to have something that can cater to you guys as well. I want all of you to know we LOVE your cars and the loyalty is MUCH appreciated. We will continue to try to improve the site for the best intrests of all types of members. Please stick with us.

Monday at 1:00pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald You are right, No one really cares about who wins. It`s the way the current winner shilled the vote. Like I said the best will never have a chance with nationwide clubs voting for a car just for its brand, Not how he built it or how he modi...fied it. I like all cars. It`s some of the people who have to win at any cost that bothers me. Figure 3000 votes for a car that not one person even knows the owner against the 2nd place with less than 200 honest votes. It`s clearly NOT the best car in the show. I have seen some of the cars in person and met a few owners. They have the winners as far as I am concerned. The continued hammering votes on that car is just adding insult to injury and the club guys know it. Real hot rods are built...Not bought. Not angry here, Just pointing out the obvious.

Monday at 4:24pm ˇ LikeUnlikeJo Dura Wow, that's a lot of driving. We do trailer the Willys. Its to unconfortable and you can't fit any luggage in it, lol.
Monday at 4:30pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald KUDOS!! These cars are meant to drive. Jo is honest with the trailer but I know he drives the wheels off it locally. They do ride like a brick but who cares when going to cruise nites and shows. Rick...My coupe would make California and back with no problem. I just have no real need to do so in the Winter months. Been from Maine to Georgia and as far west as Indiana for events. No fear here.

Monday at 4:44pm ˇ LikeUnlikeRick Allison oh i understandi had an old international scout i redone it was fun around town but more than a 75 mile trip was out of the question
Monday at 4:58pm ˇ LikeUnlikeRenee Dunivan Stokes Well i just seen this and i am addressing the store bought Mustang comment.. You will never buy this one from a store or a car dealership I have had this since 2007 and its not trailered I drive it I have 25,000 miles on it, Its not built from ground up but you wont buy one like it and for the clubs always voting for this one , THIS is a contest you need to get out there and get the votes... Thank you
Monday at 6:48pm ˇ LikeUnlikeJohn Botts I did not make the comment about the "store bought" Mustang, but I will respond. You have a very nice car, a nice NEW car. Granted, it's an open show so all years are eligible. Your car, as nice as it is, is not the best car in the show. Pe...riod. I've been to many car shows, some which had original Cobras and L-88 Corvettes. Even these cars did not garner the attention or votes that your Mustang has received. It's obvious that a car club has "juiced up" the voting and made certain that one of their members wins. Fine. Just be honest about it. I don't think campaigning for votes is fair, either. People either like my car or they don't. Get out there and get the votes? It's not my style. I get a bigger thrill out of the honest votes that I get. At least they are real. Enjoy your $150.00.

Monday at 7:36pm ˇ LikeUnlikeRenee Dunivan Stokes My votes are real too ,I do not know why you think these votes are not fair?? I just don't get it i love and take care of my car just like you...I have a lot of friends that love my car and more then half are not even in a mustang club, everyone has an opinion
Monday at 7:40pm ˇ LikeUnlikeJohn Botts And you just gave your's. Have a good evening.
Monday at 7:45pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald There were plenty of online car shows this year and of all of them they pretty much were run the same as this one. There were great rods on them and honest votes given. The scoring much the same too 1-10 on the vote. The highest score I hav...e seen was 560 over a 4 month period. The winner deserved the win. The contest here looks a bit out of balance being that the lead car went from zero to almost 1500 in 10 days. If thats not club voting and kind of in your face?...Nothing is. It is typical of people who just have to win at all cost. You proved that mr Stokes. There is fact along with my opinion. The next part of this contest should be ...What date will you reach 5000? I mean....Just to make sure you solidify your "honest win" Still not angry here , Just disappointed that as car guys, There would be one that would use such a tactic to seal a win. It matters no more yet you still campaign for votes. See how obvious? Yes...I said store bought. Thats what it is... you or who ever did the mods but in your bio of the car you made no mention of. So.........Store bought. Nice car though but not the best here in my opinion. There are clearly at least six that smoke your entry. They just don`t have club affiliation to gain 1500 votes in a few days. Congrats on your win. The club earned it.

Monday at 10:40pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald OK..Case in point, Check out another mustang club member that just got in an hour or so ago, Over 350 votes in an hour. All just friends??... The phony pony show continues...........
Monday at 10:52pm ˇ LikeUnlikeRenee Dunivan Stokes I am not MR.Stokes I am Ms.Stokes and i have lots of friends on here not all in mustang clubs, Its a contest where you get votes, this is my first show ever on a online car show i didn't know I was going to be treated so rude because I ha...ve asked for votes in the show I thought thats what Car Guy said join the contest and get votes to win.. My god what is wrong with that? It seems a little jealousy is lurking, I am a very nice person with a open personality and I talk to people and people like me and thats why I get votes.I am sorry you all hate me because I have a NEW car but i am not looking in here anymore its not worth it, I just hope the car guy gets a lot of business from people going to their site....goodnight

Monday at 11:00pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald No one hates you Ms Stokes, We are all car people. See our point of view, Look at # 2 right now, over 400 votes in 60 minutes...a bit over the top. Not being rude to you or anyone here nor jealousy either. If the shoe were on the other foot how would you look at this? It`s not fair of you to use the Car Guy as a tool in your anger. He is fair and a good man to have this car show for the masses. Guilt does weird things to people. Sorry you feel so insulted. No insult intended. Again, Just pointing out the obvious.
Monday at 11:10pm ˇ LikeUnlikeEd Fitzgerald If it will make you happy, Some of us will pull out so you will feel more comfortable here. Have a great night.
