I am absolutely in love with Richard Evans 67' stang. If you guys havnt seen it, check this link:

My question. If you look at the bottom of the second page it lists the tire sizes.

Front 225/45/17, ok no big deal

Rear 315/35/17 NO MINI TUBS, and a huge lip on the rims.

How the hell did he get those 11 inch tires to fit without tubbing the rear? This is basically the exact stance and tire combo I want on my 67, but I dont know how it was done without mini tubs?!!!

It is all in the backspacing.

On my 1965 Green Fastback, it has 275/40/17 with 17X9.9 rims with a 5.5" back space

and I clear the leaf spring by 1/4"

Well that is what I was thinking. 1/4"? Wont the tire flex that far under hard cornering?

Im guessing he had to roll the fender lips as well?
