Anyone have a 68 with M2 suspension and FE engine?

I am currently building my 68 gt after 30 years of wasted time. I have searched the internet for all of the information on M2 suspensions but cannot find info where people have used the M2 with a FE engine. I need help with header selection as well as any other tips on installing a FE engine above this suspension. My choice was with the TCI (total cost involved) coilover (not really a true M2 suspension) I already have the crossmember installed and now am looking for a good header selection. I know that I have a lot of room after the shock tower removal but I am worried with the rack and pinion to steering column shaft assembly rubbing the headers.
It seems like everyone out there has put some type of small block in their mustang when they have used this suspension.
If anyone has any personal experience with this type of setup and a FE engine, I would really appreciate their help.

Thanks,
Paul

Welcome to MM Forums...

Yes, I have used the Rod & customs and TCI with the FE Motors. Love the the TCI and didnt like the Rod & customs.

Here is some of my post on the front end kits...

For me there is only one way to go here. It is not as hard as you would think. But the change to the old Mustangs ride and handling is so dramatic you will think you are driving a new Stang! With all the stuff is comes with is a savings over just buying rack & pinion, Disc brakes, front suspension, & Coil over shocks.

The kit comes with: $2495
-Frame reinforcing plates

- Steel inner fender panels

-Jig welded crossmember

-Upper a-arm and shock mounting tower

-Urethane bushed upper and lower tubular a-arms

-Kick ass Urethane bushed Motor mounts for a 289,302,351,390,428 or 4.6 & 5.4 Mod motor

-Total Cost Involved Custom IFS dropped spindles

- Bolt-on steering arms for correct turning radius and ackerman

-Standard Power rack & pinion

-TCI All American coilover shocks with adjustable spring tension and black powder coated springs

-Eleven inch vented smooth rotors

- 4.6 or 5.4 Motor Mounts

-Detailed instuctions showing how to remove old suspension and install the new TCI unit

Just look at all the room it gives you....

This kit is Really worth the money.
1. If they are cheaper the come with less stuff, & charge shipping.

2. Engineering, I have only seen 1 company that did any. Hidetts, Fatman, Rod & Custom Look like grandpa made it in the garage.

3. The only one we use and sell is TCI. Theirs is laser cut great looking. Engineering the geometry that works great.

Look below I try to show you all the setups and their web sites.

TCI set up.

Thanks for the reply, I am glad to find someone who has used an FE in this setup. I really appreciate any help you can give me on the setup.
What kind of headers have you used with the FE and TCI suspension? I will have a C-6 behind a 427 with Edelbrock heads.
The only problem that I can forsee is the location of the shaft from the column to the rack and pinion steering.
