Body stand?

Saw a pic recently of what was a stand similar to an engine stand, but it held a whole car. Of course the car was just a shell, but it allowed the shell to be turned as required to work on all areas, even sideways; kinda like a pig spit for a BBQ.

OK,...so it this something that is made or can you buy them, what does a shell weigh, and just how do you turn this thing?

Here is a build I'm doing now with a 1967 Fastback, With my rotisserie I made out of two engine stands & 2" tube.

Link to the Photos of the build.

This is the one I used.

To roll it, you pull the pin & loosen the set bolts, It spins very easy.

The shell weights about 600 to 700#

It makes it a lot easier to work on the floor. It cost less than $400

This thing is really just so cool! It looks like it is just bolted to a square frame that you then bolted through the frame, front and rear, correct? You must then have a forklift pick it up while you bolt it onto the car frame?

Mounted squarely in the middle, it's really that easy to spin, seems like it would be very top heavy.

Whats the brand of those engine stands, they look very sturdy with nice casters.

It looks like you cut the stands in half and added in the inner spacer that allows the additional height?

How much height at the stand attachment is needed to be able to swing a full 360?

In the front, why didn't you attach the stand directly to the front of the frame, but to the sides, strength?

The stand in the rear attaches to the rear bumper bracket, but on the front you come up a little bit, is this to balance the car so that it spins easy? How did you know where the correct spot was to be balanced?

This one is like the stands I used. I add the wider stance at the back with bigger wheels.

You just need a engine stand with the 2 streight out legs. The top of the pivit point is 44" tall. I use the factory bumper mounting locations to mount the stand to the car. No extra hole are needed this way. I messured a rotisserie for a Mustang to get the shape and sizes I needed.

Didn't think I'd see a reply until Monday, thanks.

I have seen a lot of different plans for rotisseries but I thought this idea was so unique that I would share it here. it is definitely a different approach.
