thanks
I have been told not to use an aluminum block because the heat can make it crack and warp?

I'm looking to build something thats 400hp-500hp and possibley stroke so should I go with cast iron? Which is cheaper anyways...

I just want to be free of any problems that might come up if I were to buy a junkyard one. Refurbished though might be good?

yeah man definitely.. you can get an impeccable block or engine from a junkyard and clean it up and it would run absolutely perfect and look brand spankin new for alot cheaper!

A dart block will hold WELL over that, but a sctock block will hold 400-500 hp just fine for a lot less money.

A junkyard block will give you no problems as long as its not cracked which is easy to check. If you are only looking to make 400hp-500hp horsepower you are wasting your money on an aftermarket block.

Also whoever told you aluminum blocks warp and crack needs to go hang himself with a guitar string....

I've got a 408Clevor with a Vortech supercharger, somewhere around 15lbs boost. I am still working on final odds and ends on the car so haven't driven it wit this setup yet. I think I'll be somewhere in that hp range.
