Update**

So I've put about 2,300 miles on the old girl now. I discovered a few missing header bolts and replaced the header gaskets with 2 on each side and got new bolts. Apparently I was losing alot of power because now it really moves, even with the i6 rear end.

Also, I was about depart for the lake last week when I found myself stranded at HEB. The flywheel ring gear got eaten up again
Few more days and she'll be back on the road though!

So I figured out my starter/ring gear dilemna. After 5 starters & ring gears, a clutch switch and a push button ignition, I asked my go-to-guy "Mike Jenniges" what he thought. Apparently if your order a 1967 mustang 289 manual starter, the bendex is 3/4in shorter than the automatic starter bendex. For whatever reason my motor requires that automatic trans starter. Also I noticed the auto trans starter is about 2in shorter in length, giving better clearance to reach the top bolt. Anyone with long tube headers knows this helps drastically
