magnaflow exhaust mod

I'm installing a magnaflow exhaust on my 69 convert. In the instructions it said you must modify But doesn't say what to modify? Anyone have experience with a convertible? I'm sure what ever you have to do it's going to help raise the the pipe higher under the car.

How close can you get to the gas line with the exhaust before you have to shield or insulate it?

On a convertible, you will have to make it fit under the convertible plate at the seat risers.

On the gas line I would say anything under a foot.
