13" Cobra or 12" Wilwood discs

Which would your rather? I have the chance to buy a brand new set of 13" Cobra 2 Piston Brakes w/ Brembo drilled/slotted rotors (99-04), asking $500 ( I would need the adapter kit so add another $200) or this set of Wilwood which has 12" rotors and 4 piston calipers for $870? (not sure if the Wilwood changes track width, website says no, but others have indicated that it would).

Planning on around 450hp, I wasn't sure how much extra stopping power I would get from the Cobra, if any, since the Wilwood has 4 pistons, but less surface area.

I like the 12" 4 piston. The thing to look at also is the wheel size that you can use.

Hey there,

I came by a couple of weeks ago about my build ('66 coupe), still trying to gather parts. Do you know if the Wilwood changes the track width?

I don't have any rims yet and was planning on 17s (pretty sure, always subject to change) so I thought this was probably a wash.

I need to chat later about the TCI setup. I was trying to total up everything for the conversion and my estimation sounded a little high. PM me later when you get time or I can come by. And as always, thanks for your time for all us hobbyists.

I'd say both are gonna brake amazingly but the 12" wilwoods you have an option of running smaller rims like 16s if you wanted and even some 15 inch rims will fit (not all 15s but some). So if your set on 17 inch rims then that doesn't even matter.
