most recomended tranny in a 1969 fastback?

so i bought my 69 fastback before i deployed and i wasnt as much of a mechanic then as i am now and i didnt tinker with her that much, so regrettably i dont know alot about her but i was told i have a c4 and currently i have a 351W stroked to a 408 and when i bought the car i didnt realize that the tranny was slipping and since i was leaving for a year i just played till i wore it out. so now im wondering should i just rebuild the c4 or put a c6 in it???

A built C4. Is the way to go. They handle as much power as you want, and weigh considerably less. Not too mention they are everywhere, and cheap.

ok cool! so i know a guy who has an original 67 gt 500 who builds trannies and he said like a G to replace the c4 with another plus some labor but i think i would put it in myself so i would imagine that would just be abasic build nothing fancy.??? so what kind of numbers should i be looking at for a good well buit c4?
