ok..5/10/2007 my engine had a major failure. ill just tell how it happened.ok so i woke up and i was gonna got to fred meyer to get an xbox 360 started my car up and let it run i got up to running temp and i pulled out of mydrive way got about mile and a half down the road when i came up to stop light this stock looking honda rolls up and starts revving his engine so i just sit there and i brought my engine up to 2,500 rpm and the light turned green i take of next thing i know im doing about 120mph and my engine starts freaking out its back firing like hell so i slow down pull it off to the side of the road and its still backfiring (i have dump tubes just after my exhaust header) i open up the dump tube just to see if itll run better after aminute or two i knew some thing was wrong i was havving a lot of fire comming out of the dump tube and i said to my self i need to get home so i hop back in my car and tap the throttle nothing happens so i start hitting the throttle harder and harder and nothings happening i put it in gear and the honda finally caught up and saw me pull a u turn he started following me i get about 200-300 feet down the road and i finnaly got some throttle response so i dumped the clutch and stompped on it it took off left the honda in the dust and i started going uphill the engine starts pinging and my temp gauge is reading 265 degress farenheit my cars running temp is 180 f anyhow i got over the hill and i turned the key off the engine kinda deiseled for a sec then shut off i got to the bottom of the hill doing about 35mph and start my engine back up and its back to about 240 degress f i get about 1/4 mile away from my house and i lost all throttle response and the engine was idling i poped the hood and looked at the engine it was steaming from the exhaust head and the cylinder head,i get back in the car my temp gauge is back at 265 degress so i turned the key off but hte engine kep running like it was,so i play with the key and just turned it back to the on position i go back under the hood and remove the air cleaner and saw a fire so i ran into my car and grabed a rag and shuved it intot he carb and the rag caught on fire so i threw it on the ground and the engine started banging so i went back in the car and turned the key to the off position and it was not running good at all it was running anywhere form 500-4800rpm it did that for about 2 min and got out had my back to the car BOOM!! bang boom clunk crash crunch i fell flat to the ground and said holy crap. after a few seconds got up and saw a big ass hole in my ood (which was up and still is up)i walk around and all the pistons were around the engine compart ment the cylinder head was about 40-50 feet from the car in some dudes yard i called a tow truck and got it home took the engine out and found the crankshaft snapped clean in halve all the main caps broken and the new rebuild engine with 2,143 miles on it is now sleeping with the fishes not really i sent it to ford and they were really sorry it blew up they gave me a new hood and a new upper driver side control arm new spring and a new tire on the front drivers side ford said my engine failure was from the crank shaft being to narrow but i think they just messed up on the building of it so any thing that you ppl might think what else contributed to it?
