67 Mustang with 68 VIN?

I have a mustang and the only VIN I can find is on the door and it reads 8T01CXXXXXX 65A Y 2A 12J 21 2 W . But the car appears to be a 67 there is no VIN near the windshield and the interior is the interior of a 67 and exterior. What can I do about registering this car? Also I do not see a VIN under the hood of the car.

Welcome to MM Mustangs...

This is one of those grey areas,

The vin on the door does not count, I would look at the LH front apron more.

Look to see if it was replaced. I am guessing your title matches the door?

Yeah I can't find it so I'm thinking its been replaced they only VIN I've found is on the door but I'm sure its a 67 and all I have right now is a bill of sale .. the previous owner supposedly had a tag on it when he sold it to me so maybe it will register as a 68 but I don't know.
