seat of my pants.

ok i asked in another thead about fork in the road, or whatto do with my pony. well let me put it this way. what is goingto give me the most "BANG FOR THE BUCK" or "SEAT OF MY PANTS" performance. like wheni put the carb and headers on...WOAH! it really hauled ass!!! so what else should i do for the same feeling? EVERYPNE is screaming cam. cam cam cam. ok. so what one. i need one to work with my stock rockers, cuz i do this car piece by piece normally. nothing with too harsh of a lope either. something that says i got a cam but not that "deiseling" lope. also what can i expect from a good mild cam, 4 or 5 hp?

there is a "speedo gear" that you can buy to fix the speedo on older cars.

You could goto the dealer and tell them what rearend gear you have and they can match it up for you. Its pretty easy to swicth out.

Gears will give you more bang for the buck depending on what's in there. My white car went from a 2.75 to a 3.73 and it was like driving a new machine.

You change a gear in the transmision for the spedo and it's very simple. You don't have to pull the transimission or anything. It's 10 minutes max.

yeah but my issue is the c4 tranny. it already screams at highway speeds. so i dont want to go to low in gears.

I run 4-11's with a C-4 tranny. She goes like a raped ape out of the hole, but she's at around 4500 rpm at 65 mph, If your not comfortable with that, you might want to rethink gears. Higher gears don't make a good cruiser. Heads, a mild RV cam, maybe a good intake, might be a better choice.
