So how wide is it, at 18 ft how much extra length could you give up and still be OK, 4 ft?

I don't know. Never really payed attention. Find out how long your car is, and subtract it from 18'. It's wide enough then car fits. Probablymhas 6" either side.

I don't have a picture with the car in it. but I can open the door enough to get in and out and I have a truck tool box bolted to the floor in front that holds a lot of gear and I still have about 4 feet between the car and the toolbox. the trailer doubles as a garage most of the time. right now I have my 65 in there. I have it blocked up solid so I can drive in and out of it whenever I want to drive the stang. it was also my only garage while I built the bionic doghouse. (thats what I call my garage.) I also use it when I go to shows so I can clean the car up at home and not have to spend all night when I get there cleaning the bugs off it lol.

20' Cargomate. Plenty of room for the car and any extra stuff needed to bring on the trip.

I use a 16' that is 80" wide. It is enough for any car I haul, but I am adding a 30" dovetail to it this winter. I also have a 8000 lb Warn winch mounted on it.
