Thanks but let me give you a little background. Where I leave it seems that people are afraid to work in classics. Let me give you two examples: I went to a muffler shop to fix a leak at the collector he recommended me to a performance shop because he was afraid to do it. The performance shop quoted me 300+ to install headers. Ok, ha So didn't happen. Next I go to another shop where they have a real nice car like mine it belongs to the mechanic, I asked him if he would be able to change my rear gears and he said not really cause he did it to his ride but took him a while.
So yes I'm not too mechanical inclined but I can do work with supervision and by reading forums. So far I did the brakes and install the Pertronix and the tiny tach. So what's going to happen is that I'm going to drive 2 hours to my in-laws and procure the help of my brother-in-law and go that route. The reason I like the EFI and Gear vendors is because if it ever(unforeseen and unlikely reason, ) I have to get rid of the car, I could just replace them and keep them. Oh by the way I got a quote from a shop in Houston(Performance Mustangs) 2000.00 to install an AOD and get credit for the C4. The only shop in town that all (3) auto parts recommended for transmission work has never heard of Gear Vendors. In summary that's why I looking into going the bolt on route. |

I know a few shops that'll work on ol Stangs, but they're up here in Austin. There's even a 65-73 Mustang shop here. Are you just wanting someone to do the AOD & gears?

Not anymore. I'm going to do it with the help of my brother in law. I'm going with the following setup: edelbrock kit 2091, Hedman headers, magnaflow exhaust, gear vendors unit and 3.25 third member. Oh and a b&m shift kit. Finally the Holley avenger tbi. Its all been bought just waiting for a couple of things. I'll post an update by the end of august.
