67 Coupe Salina, KS

Hello All!

My name is Keith and I just bought a 67 Mustang Coupe from a friend of mine for 1500 bucks. The reason for the price is that it is completely pieced out. Basically I'll be buying a 67 frame with all the pieces and parts needed to make it whole, which is most of the reason that I purchased it. I've been turning wrenches and doing construction projects my whole life, but this is the first project of my own, so I'd call myself pretty new to the restoration/mechanic trade. I was hoping I could share in the wisdom of some of the users here and maybe share some of my own in some of the days coming when i know a little bit of something about it. Pics to come, and thanks for all your future help.

Keith

So i'm just a kid with a willingness to learn and a car to play around with... anyone know of a good dummy proof service/repair manual that'll take me through step by step maybe with some cool 1st grade style pictures?

Thanks,
Keith

PS. the mustang moves in tomorrow, pics to follow

My new project got a lot of work to do, especially seeing as it's just a hobby car and this is my first ever project like this... parts and pieces will continue to move in as time goes on... anyone wanna tell me where to start?

Nice cuz, potential! I'll let the others say where to start.. Lol I would go with making it drivable with the current engine and tranny but I haven't taken on a project before

I would start on getting it very clean. Then make it roll & and steer.

I agree with MM, rolling and steering first. Aside from books, on the internet visit this forum and a few others dedicated to classic 'stangs and look for how to and build threads. Start book marking particular tasks. E.G. Installing Upper control arms, installing lower control arms, installing brakes and spindles...

Super jealous man. I've always wanted to find a decent 67, 68 or 69 Mustang for a decent price.

Looks like you've got a great project started! cant wait to see the final outcome!

$150 well spent i think... the guy i bought it from says its out of a mustang... my dad and i are calling BS due to the EXTREMELY tall plenum... any opinions? i want a manual tranny in my car... not sure what i'm going to be doing with the AOD on here... i've got a 3 speed with the engine that came with the car, but i'm very much wanting to upgrade to a 5/6 speed
