1967 Mustang with a Nissan Skyline Engine

Apparentlthe ‘hero’ of this latest F&F film is a ‘67 Mustang fastback that eventually sports a Nissan RB26DETT, a twin-turbo 2.6-liter DOHC 24-valve straight-six from the ’holy grail’ of imports… a mid-’90s Nissan Skyline GT-R. This thing laid down 340 rear wheel horsepower at 7,300 rpm, enough to move it to a respectable 13.32 @ 109.83 mph in the quarter-mile....

I had heard something one time about.................

I had heard something one time about Nissan and Ford/Mercury sharing motors?

Something about a modular v8

Only Nissan I can think of with a V8 would be the truck, but I had heard years ago that Nissan and Ford were doing some work??

Just putting in my 1 cent, not that it has anything to do with this topic, but that never stoped me before :-)

I have heard of and seen videos of 900 hp+ racing (circuit and hill climb) skylines, but im am absolutely sure that they had different engines dropped in them, likely a 32v v8, while the skyline engine is very durable and modworthy it is only capable of a displacement of 2.8L, obviously not capable of maintaining 900hp for more than a minute or so

this car has well over 1000 hp on the rb26det motor and if they arent strong how do they go a whole season on one motor without a rebuild?

I like the Toyota Supa motor. I think it would make a great motor to replace the old I6 that ford put in the 64s-up to when ever.

Harleys really are not super fast stock (in motorcycle terms)...They are a cruiser...But they can be made to be extremely fast...But they are by no means cheap...

I have ben around Harleys all my life...

Heres a few of my dads bikes...

BTW the bike under the cover is now a chopper (45 degree rake) with a 102 CI Billet motor...Dads newest project...

My Pops just got a brand new Harley 1200 Sportster Lowered and already being customized here and there. It definatley is quick and fast, but I had a stock 302 with just bolt ons that would smoke his bike starting from second gear on a stock T-5 with only 3.55's in the 8.8 . Not knocking the harley though. There badass.

i hate to say it man. i mean dont get me wrong i like the harleys and all but i have beaten just about everytype of harley they make. they might i repeat might get me off the line if the driver knows what hes doin but i will catch them once i hit second gear. the closest one to me was the harely 1300 sportser and it still wasnt much of a race. but my car is not exactly stock either......

That is sad they would put that engine in a classic stang, but I guess it's not much different than my classic stang engine in a Focus...lol. At least the focus has the ability to break 10s though.

drgnracin72 is right though. The Skyline engine can be pretty badass.

I think it makes a better car if it was a I6 to start.
