65 Mustang With An Electrical Issue

I have a 65 mustang, the brake lights stay on all the time, whether the switch is on or not and whether the key is oin it or not. That's right, the brake lights are on 100% of the time and drain the battery even when the car is off and the key is out of the car. When I hit the turn right turn signal, the left tail light goes out, when I hit the left turn signal, the brake light still stays on. I was thinking perhaps I need to replace the turn signal switch as it is also connected to the brakes, but would like a second opinion.

This is a new issue and the car has been running just fine, no changes were made to the wiring before this occurance.

Welcome to MM Forums...

You can unplug the wires on the brake light switch on the pedal to see if they go off.

If they do replace the brake light switch.
