1980 Mercury Capri

ok my capri has a inline-6 200 c.i.d. the tranny not sure about i think its a afa of some type and its a 4-5 speed (dont remember its sitting in a garage for four years) any the clutch is toast and the started is rusted stiff i put a new starter in and the new clutch now it wont go into 1st or reverse with the engine running or the car moving(tranny problem?) it will cost me about 700 dolars if the ist reverse syncro is toast i so hope this problem isnt my engine or fly wheel cuase i dont want to pull my tranny again last time i pulled it cost me $2k not good.o and buy the way my 300 i-6 threw a piston and a couple of rods at 9k rpm lol.

If the trany hasnt been replaced it a 4-speed because you could get a 5-speed in one from the factory until 82

the I-6 300 c.i.d. is blown the 4th piston from the front and both the rods shot out at 9k rpm. but i have a 200 i-6 with a prototype intake and carb with eco heads (new company) edlebrock exhaust manifold with flowmaster 40 series muffler. some weird company pistons i have it all writen down some where.

but it is slowly hurting it cause you are oxidizing the combustion chamber with nitrous and in turn causes it to instantly rust.(its called flash rust) then you have what is it normally you need 6 lbs of air w/o nitrous in the combustion chamber when with nitrous you only need 1 lbs of air to get everything going.
