1968 stang with 1991 302. Easy or difficult?

Need to buy a new motor for my car. Called around and one guy suggested I put a 1991 302 in it. Said the FI would be better. Said all I need was the computer, wiring harness and the speed sensor. Oh, and to use the AOD tranny instead of the C4. Although the C4 would work too. Would this conversion work? Would it be difficult to do? I do all my repairs, so I have some knowledge about cars. Put my tranny in before. :wink Please give me your opinion on the matter. Oh, the engine is a pull so it would have the alternator, ps pump and not sure about the ac compressor. Would these need to be retro-fitted?

A 5.0 fits in fine and works great. It can and has be done. The wiring harness cost alot of money and when you pull the motor you need to get the computer with it.

If your going to do it find a mustang/t-bird that has been T-Boned or rear ended ( some thing wracked is usually cheap ) So that you have a doner car and you can just take everything you need from that one car.

We got everything we needed out of this T-bird for $150 and then sold parts off it for $75. So all in all we got a 5.0 with 78,xxx miles, computer, and wiring harness for $75.

(aftermath)

Took us a weekend to pull it all out and drop it into a Cougar.

:wink Thanks for the tips. I guess that might be the route I will have to take if I do decide to do it that way. Seems like a lot of work, but very innexpensive. If I can locate the right donor car.
