Headers for 289

I was wondering if anyone could help me select what brand or type of headers to put on my 289. Right now I just have the original exhaust manifolds that came with the car. I dont want them because they restrict air flow out of the engine and I want my engine to breathe. I also am going to put Flowmaster American Thunder on my stang if that makes a difference in the headers. I really dont want to spend much more than about $200 on headers.

I got Hooker long tube headers on my 66. Its a tight fit, but they work better. I try Blackjack headers and they didn't fit right.

I like Hookers, but they were $380 for my car, but I got the HPC coated ones.

Make sure you get decent ones with a thick flange or you'll be tightening them once a week.

Well thanks for all the input. I was just wondering what brand to buy. I saw the hooker headers and was interested in them but just wanted to hear from other people.
