I have seen someone cut thru a club with a hacksaw in less than 10 seconds, and with cordless Zaw saws cheaper than ever this isn't going to do alot of good. If you don't want it to be driven off I would suggest a main power disconnect that you can kill all power to the car so it won't start unless you turn it back on. Summit makes these and they run about $50 but are pretty big. For something of this size it would need to go in the trunk. You could probly get a smaller one put under the dash somewhere or maybe in your glove box if it will lock.

Besides that I don't know because it's fairly easy to just use a slimjim to get into the car. If you got a CD player I would say put it out of sight or put a CD changer in the trunk and keep only the head unit up front. and make sure it has a detachable faceplate, without that it's pretty much usless and won't be as attractive to snatch. Also you can use a small chain, bolt it to the CD played and to the firewall so it'll only slide out an inch or so from the mounting box.

My 65 was broke into on monday and my CD played and speakers were stolen. I am not even going to waste the time on thinking for a second that the cops around here will get them back.

whoa, you have a BRAND NEW 1966 coupe? still has a warranty and everything? thats so cool!

lol i am just messing with you.. if you dont want to go through the hassle of all that high tech crap and everything, maybe you should invest in a steering wheel lock or something of that nature.. if you know what you are doing, you can get a car running by popping the hood just as easy as you can turn the key to start it from the inside

put a kill switch and relay in.hide the switch so only you know where it is.fix the relay so it will ground the ignition.if they take the time to figure that out ,you should be able to catch them in the act.

just do like these retarded rednecks around here do.. if there is something in your trunk worth stealing, put a big ass concrete block on the trunk lid.. the crackheads will give up trying to open the trunk when they realize you cant open a trunk lid with a concrete block on it, and they're too stupid toi realize you can just take the block off and lift the trunk lid

Clifford, Viper, DEI. BestBuy, CircuitCity, Fries electronics, or a good reputable install shop around. The 2way systems give a good piece of mind and a starter disable will also keep your car in the driveway. Might cost allot($350-$600) to get the car up to the alarms standards but the optional sensors are pretty universal so you will be good to go.

Get a gas shutoff valve. There is really nothing you can do. The more things you have, the more likely they will give up. If I was going to steal a car, I would get a rollback and just tow the thing off.

Get a viper 2 way alarm with a 508D Dual-Zone motion sensor, you can get them set so high that if anybody even waves their hand like 3 feet away it'll go off...

Appreciate the suggestions, think i will get one of those two way alarms (had a look in circuit city yesterday) and also just get your standard wheel lock and eventually a kill switch installed.

and btw the coupe is BRAND NEW! to me hahaha!

yea definatly if someone wanted to steal it a middle of the night drag it around the block load it on the tow truck and adios. Yes I've had to do this to a guy who stole my 68 Dodge Charger years ago and somehow legally filed for lost or stolen title. Now with my 66 mustang (my door locks are worthless too) I have a club (I used to laugh at those) and soon will put in a 2 way alarm, and get one of those removable steering wheel kits.
