When you say getting them reworked what do you mean? Will a set of stock springs valves everything still give me noticeable hp increase. Also will my headders from my stock 302 heads fit on the 289's?

I don't think those have chevy valves in them.

Stronger springs are for a street cam. They need to match you cam.

Your headers should fit.
