No fuel

Ok fellas i need some help here... Im stumped.. I have a 1972 mustang with a 351W and It will not run anymore.. It ran ok for a while then one day just stopped. So in my hunt I found that I am not getting any fuel to the carb.. I have changed both of my fuel filters I have replaced my fuel pump and I have cleared out my fuel lines using compressed air.(thinking they my might be clogged.) I have found that i am not even getting fuel to my fuel pump so it is something before that point. Well i get a little bit but not enough to even fill the fuel filter up. What could cause this?

Maybe the eccentric(sp) fell off inside the timing chain cover. It's a little round piece that the arm on the fuel pump lays on, and as it spins it moves the arm up and down to pump the fuel.

what kind of carb. an if that did fall off in the timing cover you would be able to figure that out quick. just listen as some one tries to crank. but it sounds like the carb is clogged, maybe the jets

take the fuel pump off.leave the line from the tank hooked up.pump it buy hand.if you dont get fuel then, you know its befor the pump.check the rubber hose at the tank.if that is good put some gas in it.

I'm thinking if he's not even getting fuel to the pump, the carb has nothing to do with it.

What kind of pump did you buy? I've seen the oreilys, and autozone pumps bad right out of the box before, so it could be that too.

It could be it the fuel tank. Could be rust in the tank. I would bet thats it.

I think i figured it out... i finally got fuel somehow to the carb and I noticed that fuel started spewing out of the filter by the carb. It had a leak so no pressure could be built. I also found the filter by the pump did the same thing. so i tightened them up and the battery died so ill give her a try today and see if i fixed her. thanks for all the help...
