Rust is the big thing to look out for in a classic Mustang. If it has rust, then that is going to cost some bucks to get it fixed.

Normally it forms on the under carrige, and comes up right, I know the 65 and 66's had alot of issues with this..

Under the battery is the worst bit, cause it gets a lot of air cause it's in the engine compartment, a bit of water, cause of splash, and a lot of battery acid. I have a hole in mine actually, but it wouldn't be too rough a fix once i get it media blasted.

i got my 72 mach 1 for 6500 from a dealership, they took it in as a trade it and sold it as is, the bank appraised it for 12,000 so i dont think i got a bad deal! it needs some body work but they are just mostly chips here and there, other than that it runs like a champ!

There's a 66', 289, 4 speed (I believe) for sale down the road from me. It could use a little body work, some sanding here and there, and maybe a new roof interior, the engine, trani, and brakes are all new, so it's certainly not original..It even needs some new chrome.

Its been for sale, 7 and a half months, and the guy wont come down past 8 thousand...kind of stiff if you ask me..He thinks its some sort of trophy car

btw, I'm cameron, 16 years old, and down in connecticut

Hey Cameron I'm also from CT and new to the site. Welcome.
Way too much money for that car. If it needs that much work,he should be asking 4-5 grand for it.
