Uh-Oh!


i found a huge puddle on my floor board today (both passenger and driver sides) im guessing its the cowl? replacing it seems like a huge job...cause wouldnt i have to take the front end apart?

advice?

Ya, check the color/smell it could be your heater core.

Just get a cowling cover for when it rains. Good point about the color, but jessy would know if the heater core was leaking. She knows more about car then most guys on here.

i covered it with duct tape until i can go down to mustang fever to get the cover. the heater core is fine, but thanks for the tips. im going to have to purchase some patch pannels and send the damn thing to the shop, again...its in the garage for now.

If its the cowling, you might be able to get a cowling repair kit and do it youself.

I had that problem too at one point. It was just my wipers like nba

I would put my money on a cowl. Happens alot in older cars

run water in the air vent.if it wets the floor its the cowl,if it dose not wet the floor,run water on the wiper shafts,then you will know.

I had to replace a section of the lower cowl on my 70. It was rusted out around the air intake opening for the heater. Major pain to get to plus no one makes a reproduction of that area for my year. I had to find good used metal. On the earlier model years you can buy all new metal but the upper cowl is not bolted on like mine was. I also had the advantage of having the car disassembled and it was still hard to get to to do it right.
