Buying A 1965 Coupe, 6 Cyl.

Need help with researching a 1965 coupe. Current owner says he is #2 and he bought it from original owner 1 year ago. How do I confirm? I tried doing one of those vin searches, but all say invalid vin #. Starting to get frustrated and taking too long to complete transaction. ~ Matt

Ask him would it was and call them. Does he have a old bill of sale or something with their name?

Happy to have you here. You sure make a post in the new member area. You don't have to if you don't want.

Thanks. I was wanting to VIN search the car, because it looks like there may be some former touch ups to the car. Claims its all original with a repaint about 5-6 years ago. In the trunk, there is some black spray - looks like inhibitor spray. Just fearful of getting into this thing, wiping the makeup off and finding more problems than I am prepared to undertake.

To follow-up, is there a $$ website you are familiar with that can VIN searches on older non-standard VIN #s?

Sorry, I don't know of one. You could take it to a bobyshop and have them look at it.
