72 stang q's


so i own 3 mustangs now an 88 5.0, 65 straight 6, and a 72. my question is on the 72 it has a stock 351w, can i supercharge it with out making upgrades?

you sure its a windsor? I had a 73 with a 351C, and the original motor in my 71 was a 351C? Or is it not the original motor?

a moderate amount of boost should not hurt it.

yes keep the boost low otherwise you will split the main caps and block all the way through.

Are you sure it's a Windsor and not a Cleveland?

to start 351W looks like a common 302, and according to one of the mustang decoder sites, 71-73 never had a 351W from the factory Only 351C. VIN H is 351C

H-code

1973 H-code 2V 351 Cleveland


The majority of 351 Cleveland engines are H-code 2V (2-venturi carburetor) versions with low compression. These were produced from 1970 through 1974 and were used on a variety of Ford models from compact to intermediate.

windsor water outlet is on the intake manifold.cleveland is not.

Windsor also has large spark plugs, while cleveland has smaller spark plugs.

haha you guys were right it is a 2v cleveland. sorry about that. so aside from supercharging whats the best and or cheapest mod i can do to that gas guzzling beast?

The cheap thing to do like a supercharger with out the high price, Just put N.O.S. on it.

All your trying to do is get more air into it so you can add more fuel.

And as my motor man says, "If it Breaks, we was needing a better one anyways"
