c4 or c6

i currently have a c4 in my 68 and really want to put in a c6 bc when im finished with this project (probably 1 or 2 more years) i plan on putting over 600hp to the wheels. Anyway, what kind of mods are needed to put a c6 into a 68 with a 351w.... if anybody know i thank you ahead of time.

Yup, if you're going to try and go fast, just build the C4.

Jay Broader in Texas is the Ford trans king.
He dynos all his trannys under race loads before shipping, 4 pulls.

He can build a 1000hp capable AOD. You should check into that. An AOD was my car's best upgrade.

AODs can be built strong but C4s are cheaper and more efficient. An AOD is an easy choice for a daily driver. Overdrive on the highway is hard to beat on a street car.

I agree with darrell the AOD is the way to go.the choice between the c4 and c6 is easy
the C6 is alot more durable in stock form than a stock c4 to begin with and a beefed up
C6 is comparable to a turbo 400.It might soak up a little more power but it will be around way longer than the C4

AOD's when built right will be stronger than a C-4. It was built like a C-6. C-6's are nice, but no OD.C-4's can handle quite a bit also, and parts are generally the cheapest also.
