Transmission Leak

K so i rebuilt my c4 last year round this time. Any who i found out that it is leaking again. so i think it is on the transmission pan which leads me to think that the guy i got it off originaly gouged the mating surface on tranmisssion where the pan bolts to. sorry to sound stupid or patrinize others but just want to get the idea accrossed where it is at. now can i just get that milled down or do i say screw it an buy a 1200 tranmission from jegs or summit? Please give your thoughts an ideas thanks

Keith

Honestly it would have to be pretty smashed in not to seal.
I'd fill any grooves with JB weld.

More likely the pan screw holes are puckered and need to be peened flat or its not leaking at the pan but at the input shaft bushing. The pump seal is important but that bushing is what takes full pressure. On a rebuild that needs to be replaced. I have 2 cars that leak like freakin crazy now that need it done.

Reseal the pan with a single cork or even a silicon or composit gasket & some good rtv,but also check your dipstick/filler tube & make sure it is not the problem.I usually like to use rtv along with the o-ring to make sure theres no leaks there.

More than likely it's not the pan leaking. The lever seals are famous for leaking. This is the seals on the levers right above the pan. They leak and it looks like the pan is leaking. Just my .02

Friggin flyboys, never double gasket anything, the fluids just squirt out between them. pull the pan clean every bit of fluid / oil off of the mating services. Put on the new gasket with RTV and lightly tighten, let set 24 hours and torque as specified.
