Classic Mustang Overdrive
I found a old 2001 Mustang magazine with a overdrive add on. This works for autos and 4 speeds. If you have a 3 speed auto, you end up with a 6 speed auto. It sounds great, but I have never seen one working or know anyone that has done it. Here is a link to a place that sells the overdrive unit. I am sure that they are not the only place that sells them.

Wow! That sounds fantastic. I'd be interested to know what they charge. Granted I'm still learning about rearends and gear sizes but it sounds great from where I'm sitting.

I looked it up some years ago and it was not cheap. I think it was cheaper to get a new T-5 with the kit to put it in.

i have installed two gearvenders overdrives in a 67-69 mustangs.you can run it in auto shift or manuel shift.it dose what it says, turns a 3 speed to a six speed.it makes your low gear a lot lower and high gear a lot higher.it is a super unit.takes about 3 hours to install and you do heve to shorten drive shaft.

Yea, for that much cashey money, I'll stick with 4 speeds. Be cheaper to buy a wrecked fox and pull the tranny.

You could always get a Borg Warner T-85 3-spd overdrive from a van or truck, and have the best of both worlds.
