I place the 1/4 skin on the car. Notice the small strips of metal with the screws in them. I use these to hold the panel in place for marking. I take a scribe and mark around the 1/4 skin. I then remove the skin and cut on the line careful not to remove too much.

place small tacks about every inch skipping around so as not to heat up any one area to much.

I make small stitch welds now about every 2 inchs. A stitch weld is nothing more than about 4 tacks overlaping each other. Notice the gap is almost invisible. I use the metal strips and screws instead of clecios because they hold tighter. Don't get carried away at this stage take a break and let everything cool sometimes.

Welds ground off don't grind in one area too long it will also cause warpage. I used my Mig welder instead of tig because I can't get behind all of this panel to hammer and dolly the welds If I still have alilttle of the weld showing it is ok. Not very large anyway.

door gaps still good and I still have to weld the 1/8 Inch holes shut from the straps. Will post more on this car as I go Hope you enjoy. Oh yeah to answer the question it is not a total tube frame just the front clip. The rear will be 4link with coilovers.

I cut out all the right side 1/4 panel and the outer wheelhouse and half the enner wheel house. someone did a sloppy job of repairing the right 1/4 after a wreck. Nothing lined up all the gaps were made with bondo, most of the welds tacked at best were covered with tiger hair. Just plain and simple stupid and lazy work.
