top loader 4 speed
Just a curiosity question. My 4 speed doesn't particularly like 2nd gear. You have to push it harder than the other gears to get it in, and if you don't get it in all the way, it pops out after about 100 feet. And if I pop it down from third, it almost always pops out, especially if I'm slowing down. Any Idea on what could cause this? It's not a big deal, just a slight annoyance from time to time.

How much for the close ratio? I don't like my wide ratio because when you shift from 2nd to 3rd, it's almost like you skipped a gear and it falls on its face.

maybe the shifter rod isnt adjusted all the way? Could be that simple, but depending on the mileage on the trans, the 2nd syncro could saying bye bye. usually its 2 to 3 syncro that goes first, not 1 to 2. keep us informed?
