Probably A Really Stupid Question

i jsut got in an accident with my 2000 mustangs. its a v6 and standard shift. my dad has the shell of a 68 mustang in the garage and he wants to put the straight six in that we have hanging up. would it be possible to take my engine out and put in the the 68?

Yea you certainly could, though it'd be alot of work (drivetrain, custom mounts / k-member, ecu, wiring harness, etc.

Its really something to look into. Look at what you would have. I want to put a Toyota Supra I6 motor in a 67 or 68. I think that would work very well. It would almost make it a good daily driver. What the horse power on a V6? you might have to replace the rearend too. I would replace the front brakes too.

well the 2000 engine come with a 190 stock, i think. But the 68 was a v6 too back in the day, and i think the straight 6 we have might be the original engine. so would the suspension really needed to be changed?

You shouldn't have to change the suspension. Have you googled this? I think it's been done, and you can probably find some good info on it.

I think you should go with a Lawnmower engine..
Yeah, Shove it in there. Nothing cooler then a classic stang with all the modern workings. Carefull moving that computer around though and be sure your grounded. I hear a million people say the same thing, " I've banged around computers in cars and moved them around with no ground and never had a problem." Then their shit starts twitching 6 months later and they blow 1200 trying to fix a ghost.

DO IT AND TAKE PICTURES..

I try not to become closed minded about anything. I think it would make it a better car. I would not do it to just any Mustang, but it you had a I6 mustang with a bad motor or no motor then I would think about it.
