1966 mustang steering issues

I have a problem with my steering, i can only make right turns, but when i try to turn left it just locks up, what could the problem be?There is fluid in the p/s pump.

could be a broken part in the steering box.

sounds like the power cylinder got dinged and the piston want pass the ding.

also if i try to turn it left, it starts to make a cracking noise.

Have someone turn it left while you look at it see were the sound is coming from.
