if you have less than 350 hp stock motor mount are fine.
your tranny mount be the same as the one you have now. V8 frame mounts are $99. Stock rubber mounts are $11 each. The big question is what you do with your 4 lug stuff ? That is were the money is going to go. |

MustangOne is right, you need to get a new spindle and hub, 5 lug, for v8 mustangs, as well as all new front v8 suspension, and to get the 5 lug on the back a 9 inch rear end is what ya need. For the tranny mount you need a plate to bolt into place that extends your original mount, can easily be hand made. Thats just for starters on what you will need for that swap

Yeah you could also use a 8 inch rear thogh as well, Most of your money is going to go into getting 5 lug and your suspension. Like Mustang said

ok just to clear it up, I am going to need the frame mounts and the actual motor mounts?
and just for reference, the motor is putting out 365hp on the dyno. so should i spend the money on the polys or will the stock ones work fine? |

yes there is 2 parts you need, Frame Mounts for a V8, & Rubber to motor mounts V8.
If your are drag racing every weekend Polys, If your just driving Stock be fine. What are you doing with the rear end? and Front End ? The stock 4 lug 6cyl Rear End will handle 200 HP. The stock front end Drag link and tie rod ends will not last long with extra wieght of the V8. Good Luck |

Sounds good, I ended up getting the stock stuff since this is my show and go car...not a race car.
As for the other stuff, I have a line on an 8inch rear, and if that falls through i will just look for another V8 rear out of a 65 or 66. The front spindles are the only thing that I need for the front end, and brakes of course. The rest of the stuff I am just replacing with stock 289 parts from CJs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this is the first time I have attempted a 6 cylinder to V8 swap. |
