I would say you're right. All the small block cams are interchangable, and the firing order is different between the two engines.

The 289 ,302, 351 Can share the same cams lifters, Heads,Motor Mounts and on 66 and newer 289's with 6 Bolt bell housing can share the same tranny and fly wheel up til 1977. 28oz motors
The 351 Cam is what we use in our builds |

5.0 That will be a 6 bolt motor 50 oz.
