Cam : SUM-k3606 234/244 .520/.544 rpm 3400/6800 $89.95 needs stall converter on C4's Auto's

Heads Procomp 190 cc $759
Adgressive camOperating Range:2300-6500 RPMDuration Advertised:284° Intake / 296° ExhaustDuration @ .050'' Lift:240° Intake / 246° ExhaustValve Lift w/1.6 Rockers:.541'' Intake / .544'' ExhaustLobe Separation Angle:110°

Clamer Cam
Operating Range:1800-5800 RPMDuration Advertised:270° Intake / 270° ExhaustDuration @ .050'' Lift:224° Intake / 224° ExhaustValve Lift w/1.6 Rockers:.500'' Intake / .500'' ExhaustLobe Separation Angle:110°

All we are trying to do here is get as much Fuel and Air Mix into the cylinder's.

Have the cam hold the Intake Valve open Longer & open wider While the piston is in it full down stroke so the Heads will flow as much cfms of air fuel mix into the cylinder.

i found a pair of edelbrock heads that had the valve size of a boss engine well 2v. the intake was 2.05 an the exhaust was i think 1.71. i am tempted to go with that. now the cam i want to be mild. an i already have headers carb i have an edlebrock 650 electrical choke. i forgot what intake i have. so with that valve size what cam would you sugest? an what kind of stall conveter would i need.

plus keep in mind for now i just want like 350 rbhp, an i think i can get close to that with the heads an cam an stuff. or is that pushing it?

The problem with getting into stuff that big, is it will require more and more work. If you get valves that big with any kind of cam, you will have to have the pistons fly cut.

Cam profiles are very complex, and there's a lot more to it than just picking the ones with the biggest numbers. There are a whole lot of other things to take into consideration. Unless you're prepared to have to do a lot more than just install heads and cam, I suggest you stay a little smaller on the valve size.

Comp Cams is always a good choice for valvetrain parts on what you're trying to do.

My recommendation is to find a set of heads you can use (if you don't mind taking the engine to a machine shop and getting the pistons fly cut, the ones you mentioned are fine), and call Comp Cams tech line and tell them your combo. They will tell you which one of their cams will work the best for you.

alright well then there is another set of edelbrock heads that have 1.91 intake an 1.60 exhaust. that would proly work better i take it.

so comp cams will customly grind a cam for me to fit what i want is what your saying. also for stock heads on a 73 302 what size valves do i have?

Edelbrock.com - Cylinder Heads - Ford - Small-Block - Victor Jr.

These are the heads i want the victor jr ford. reason being is for the 70 cc combustion chamber plus the high air flow it will provided. what do you guys think. also i already have a rebuild kit in mind that has valve notches or releifes in them

Those are great heads for what you're wanting to do, but valve reliefs being cut in the pistons are not the same as fly cutting them. Most flat top pistons have valve reilefs cut in them. The only way to be sure is to clay the pistons to check the piston to valve clearance, but I'm almost sure you'll have to have the pistons cut with a valve that big. Darrell could probably give more insight on that than me.

I was necessarily saying Comp Cams will custom grind one for you. They have many pre ground camshafts like the ones MustangOne posted, bet they can tell you which one will work the best.

reason why i want these heads are due to finding the boss intake is a bitch. i wanted to build a 347 stroker with 351 cleavleand 2v heads but not going to happen. so these i found so where would i need to go to get the pistons fly cut as you put it?

that is true but the fact being is i want to keep the original engine with this car. plus people are doubting i can get out that much with my engine setup i have in mind so i am going to prove them all wrong after it is done on the track. stupid ls1 guys make fun so i will beat them with my punny 302. so off the subject of getting a bigger engine in there it will stay the orgianal block so back to the topic.
