302 performance upgrades

I have a 65 with a 302 4 barrell and a pretty big cam(not sure on the specs). Before i do the paint, i want to get the most hp i can without a blower. Im going to be getting longtube hooker headers but what else can i do to pick the hp up. Also, i will be getting better rims and tires so i can hook up with the t5 in the car but what suspension mods can i do to make it hook up the best. As of now im getting shocks, the leaf springs are ok, but please let me know what you guys think i could do to get these things done.

you might think about putting some 289 heads for higher compresion. They interchange with 302 heads and you can probably still get the stroker kit you want
