1966 Mustang Hardtop?

Have you ever seen a 1966 Mustang with Portholes in the hardtop like an old thunderbird? I found and purchase this car a few days ago. I found it hiding behind some guys barn. The car is in real good shape. It had been covered up for about 10 years. I am hoping this is a rare car with the portholes being in it. Someone let me know.

Thanks

I have, but I never asked about it. I don't know anything about it. At the time I saw it. I was think it was just a custom job by some body shop. Now that you got one and I have see one, we are talking about 2 of them. Where are you? I am in GA. Thats where I saw one at. Its was about 20 years ago. Could you send a pic of it?

Could someone of cut those in? It don't look the same as the one I seen. I think the one that I see was a custom job.

Your bench seat I have heard of but never seen. Most people have never seen one

Is that rust in the door that I see? Most 66 Mustangs have rust there. My Mustang has rust there too.

There is a little bit of rust in the door. But the rest of the car is in real good shape. I inspected the windows really good to see if they were an add on and they are factory. I hope there is someone out there that can tell me more about this car.

Just a guess, I would say a dealer did it. I don't think ford did it. If you dont like it, I bet you could take it out pretty easy. I think I would keep it.

i was told that the portholes were a trend back in the day and a bunch of average joes did it to make their cars look good, i'd compare it to ducktail spoilers on modern mustangs..
