2. what is the h code?
3. how much does a mach 1 weigh? (1972)

The 72 Most of the parts that you would need a avalible.
H Code is a 351 2V Cleveland Good Motor With Great Heads For a Driver.
This motor has a Diffrent head for the 4V. The 4V heads Are alot like the Boss Heads. Of the 2 4V heads there is a open & Closed Chamber heads. Close makes higher compresion. This is the main thing our motors in 1972 lost. On my 351C's with 2V Heads I would run 10:1 Compression and a Good Cam. Change the 2:72 Gears In the rear end out, to 3:55 or 3:25's.

ThE car Weights 3600.

I have a 1973 Mach1, My HighSchool car. Me and my friends took mine up to 165 MPH before the front end started to float. The 71-73 Front ends are alot better than 65-70's.
I like the 71-73 they ride really good. but my 1968 is alot faster than my 73 with a 429.
There is just alot of weight in the 71-73's

For the Price I Like it Alot.

yeah the H code is a 351 2V...if it runs, get it, you will not be disappointed...the 351 cleveland is a fun motor to work with and can easily be beefed up...it'll take money like any other car but nothin like having a big block motor under the hood...72 was the year they passed the emissions law so these motors dont make as much HP as the clevelands in 71, but still have the same potential...stock its probably gonna run the same as your GT, maybe a little slower due to weight (just a guess ive never driven a GT) but just a 4bbl carb can probably change that, let alone if you change out to 4bbl heads and 4bbl intakes, cam it, get gears and posi, and you'll have a strong motor, especially if you keep goin

That was True back in the day. But these days the R & D Has made the Windsor the KING of the hill.
The Cleveland is a Very Nice Motor, But has had no new Real Development in the last 10 years.

yeah they kinda just let the cleveland become a "legend" so to speak, isnt the 1995 Cobra-R powered by a 351W or a fuel injected windsor of some sort? but yeah def. the newer technology windsors are pretty sweet

the cleveland is a big small block from the Ford's 335 Engine Family

the windsor is a small block, a slightly enlarged 289/302

the heads on a cleveland are way better

ok so here we go

1. Yes
2. the engine has a 2 barrel carb, low compression
3. 3600 lbs
4. 170-180HP Rating (dont judge before you drive it though )
5. It's probably similar to your GT, maybe a little slower

heres a vid of my stock exhaust

6. Price wise will be about the same as any other car really, except parts stores wont have much in stock, so you'll do a lot of ordering either through a parts store or through somewhere like jegs, summitracing, ect.

and so you dont get discouraged about the HP rating, you have to remember the motor is a 5.8L V8 from 1972, so basically every part on there is very restrictive when it comes to HP, so any aftermarket part is gonna open up so much potential for that motor, and you'll have some nice torque

If you live in a State that doesn't have stringent smog codes, you can remove all the smog stuff and get close to 400hp out of a 351C with 2V heads and bolt on parts. close to 500hp with 4V heads.

The 351C is a small block plain in simple. You might say that it has "big block heads" but it is not a big block at all.
