door won't open

I have a 68 coupe. This week-end a replaced the screwa around the door latch. I only had 1 screw in there and figured I lost the other 2. So I when down to the hardware store and got 3 screws that were close. The only difference is that the were probably an inch long. After putting them in, I shut the door and haven't been able to open it since. I've tried both inside and outside handles, but no luck.. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Keith

your going to have to pry it open.. chances are that the heads on the screws are too big.
it happened to me in my 01 as well.

D o . . . W h a t ? ? ? ?

Ok before we get CRAZY here.

All you need to do is Take the door panel off, and take a look to see what happened here. With the window up you can look at all 3 rods.

Outside Rod
Inside Rod
Door Lock Rod
Just make sure the door lock rod is in the unlock position.
then take a look at the other 2 rods and see if they are in a bind.

Good Luck

If you knew how the 68 latch worked you would know that all the screw could hit is were the rod connect to the latch.
With the door Panel off you can open the door from the inside. Just need to see witch rod is in a bind.

Well in that case I will subscribe to this thread and hopefully learn something new.
the only 2 mustangs I haven't owned were the 96-98's and the classics.
