67 not charging

I've got my project purring, but I noticed my battery is being drained while tuning it. I have a new alternator that a shop put on, when my engine and body work were being done.

What are some first things to check to isolate the problem. Mine was a 6 to 289 swap. Could my voltage regulator be bad, what else should I check?

First thing I would do would be put another battery in it, see if it charges that one. if it doesn't, then you have a problem with .. well, something electical =p

I would pull out a voltmeter, and check the regulator, and make sure the alternator is installed correctly then.

Check voltage!!

First thing I would do is get a digital or anolog volt meter and check power at the battery before running.Should be at 12.0-12.6v varyies with battery.Next start the car and check again the battery. Should be around 13.5-14.0v depends on alternator. If you not getting this then check alternator,Put positve lead on postive connection on the back of the alternator and ground to the case of alternator or good ground. This will tell you if the alternator is putting out the right amount of voltage to charge the battery.Should be around the same as the battery if working right. Now if you are getting the right voltage off the alternator but its not getting to the battery, then make sure all wires on back are in the right spot ,if I remember right there should be just the harness that screws on and it only goes on one way.If all that is good then its got to be the voltage regulator. If the alternator isnt putting out what it should be then tell tha shop that put it on that its a bad alternator and repace it.hopfully that helps you.

but yeah check your voltage like bossman said, make sure all your wires are good and not shitty just start at one place and work till you find the problem

I agree with Bossman also. If it's not the battery or the alternator...got to be the regulator.
