well, with minor modification you can take it out of any car. The ford 9 inch is the strongest, but if you're only going with a 302, you may not even make enough power to brake the stock 8 inch. How much power are you looking to push?

the motor dynoed about 360 hp. so i want something that is going to withstand me getting on it every now and then.
will a rear end out of a fox body work? because i have found a lot of those rear ends...but nothing for our body style. will that lincoln rear end work that i posted the link for? because that would be perfect with the brakes already on it.... a lot of the fox bodies have the really weak 7.5 inch and I dunno if the later ones came with the 8.8. If it's an 8.8 go for it. If that 360hp is at the crank, a stock 8 inch will handle that without breaking a sweat, if it's at the wheels, it will for a while, I read about a guy breaking one a year with 400 at the wheels. So, I would go with the 8 inch, unless you want to play it safe and go with the 8.8/9

why go 8.8" when you can go 9"
Ive never been in that situation but why wouldnt you go with the 9" rear end?It has so many different gear options and LSD will work great on it.But if thats what you want to put in it my 2000 grand marquis has an 8.8 and I give it hell som times and it holds up fine.

well the reason im asking is because i didnt know if that would fit. if i can get that and it will work well with my motor, because it is cheap and in my area, i will get it. if anyone has any more suggestions i would appreciate it, because i still am having trouble finding one, regardless of being 8 or 9 inch.
