Pump it, Steer it
I'm doing a carbed 5.0/GT40P swap into my 1968 Mustang Coupe, using serpentine belt & late model water pump style. I also wanna utilize A/C compressor & condenser from a 94 Mustang 5.0, and the P/S pump is mounted on the same bracket.
So I was thinking, is it possible to use a power steering from a late model Mustang on the components of an early model (i.e. power steering cylinder & control valve)? Anyone did this and worked fine? I don't know how much is the discharge pressure for early & late model pumps, otherwise I could tell. |

After a half hour search, I found out that it is very possible:
