Flywheel installation

I have an externally balanced flywheel. How do I know the right way to install it back on the crank. There isn't a pin to line it up. This is for a 1967 Mustang 289 or 302

I just read another forum, I guess the bolt holes should only line up 1 way. Does that sound right?

Thats right, the holes should only line up one way, it might look like they line up another, but you wont be able to get the bolts in.

The holes will only line up 1 way. This makes sure the engine is balanced properly. Make sure you have the right imbalance weight flywheel for your motor/year/harmonic balancer or the motor will vibrate itself to death in no time.

6 bolts. I got it to line up after moving it 4 times...
