4 barrel carb w/ electric choke

I got a 5.0 4 barell carb from a junk yard that will fit on my '67 stang. I think I have a manual choke right now and I wasn't sure if I should buy an electric or manual choke. My friend says to get the electric but he's not sure how to hook it up. Tips?? Thanks

best way i know is hook it up on a relay.that way it dosent interfear with your ignition system.some people hook to the coil but i dont like that way.

Some systems don't have a full 12V going to the coil. Check first.
The choke needs 12V when the engine is running and no voltage when it is not.

Plz do not hook it up to the coil. on all mustangs does not at full 12V.

if you need to hook up a electric choke on a mustang, Connect it to the stater on the alternator. The Stater is the post by itself towards the bottem of the alt. Look at Photo below. It only has 12V when the motor is running.

In That Case, on 1965 2 Wire Heaters, & 1966 Mustangs and Newer, Make a Pig tail off your Brown Heater Fan Wire. NOT the Yellow one. The Yellow one is your Varable Ground Wire.

The Brown Wire only has 12V+ power when you turn the key on.

I Like it becuase it is right there. It is my second choice.
