72 power steering to rack n pinion...

I have a 72 mach 1 that i want to run rack and pinion steering. Currently its set up for power steering. What options do I have on this, any donor cars that I can get parts from? What would it hurt if I just dont have the pump hooked up and drove it??

just put standard steering parts on it and if you are moving it will be fairly easy to steer.

Im just Asking here... Why you looking to remove the saginaw steering box from your 71-73 ?

I could understand Dumping the 65-70 slave cylnder/ control valve setup.

But the 71-73 have a pretty good steering set up for a mustang.

The pump cost $79

The Power steering box is $199
